Barkdogs are highly-advanced intelligent plant-based lifeforms resembling any breed of dog (or species of canine) you can think of. Barkdogs are born from seeds that instead of taking root in the soil, they absorb the necessary nutrients to break out of their shell. The first stage of a Barkdog's lifecycle is a sapling; a small, extremely vulnerable puppy-like plant with small hairs and a soft indent in their back where their tree will sprout. (see image below for hair reference)

Most of the dermis is visible in this stage.
This stage allows the barkdog to move around freely and escape unfavorable environments to move to a new location, however due to its incredibly miniscule size, it is very easily crushed. This is why travel by air is preferred, and multiple flights may result in the barkdog later developing wings.
By the time the wood has grown around its limbs, the barkdog has entered its adolescent stage. The tree has begun to grow from its back, and it will no longer need to burrow underground during the winter. At this point, the barkdog has developed teeth-like thorns in its mouth which aid it in self-defense against predators.Nutrients from the dirt are no longer required, and the barkdog is sustained completely by water (preferably with minerals) and sunlight.A barkdog will grow to be around twice the size and weight of its tree, however for practicality reasons this can be ignored if you don't want to draw a giant oc.
Barkdog "blood" is always an offwhite green (#b4ffbd). Barkdogs have no skeleton, no reproductive system, and no digestive tract. They reproduce by releasing seeds through their "fur" (much like a dandelion).
Barkdogs can be feral, or anthropomorphic, depending on their environment. A seed planted in the forest will be feral, and a seed planted in a city (such as in a park) will be anthro.

A family or group of Barkdogs is called a forest.

This is Bonsai, the mascot of the species. He should help you get a general idea of how to make your own! The only required features are the tree on the back, and the wooden legs.
Some of the traits of this species include:
- leaf ears
- basic wooden legs
- stylized wooden legs (see bonsai; inspired by Amaterasu from Okami)
- tree has flowers or fruit
- leaf or pine tail
- tree produces rotten fruit
- dog ears
- dog tail
- no tail
- petal tail
- neck leaves or petals
- poisonous fruit, flowers, or tongue
- sap tongue
- petrified wooden legs*
(*Barkdogs cannot absorb water through their legs if they have this trait.)
- Two trees
- multiple tails
- wings (can appear to be "feathered" or "webbed", or one of each)
- has a fungus or multiple fungi growing on them
- clawed paws
- dead/dying tree

Get creative! You can even choose a tree from a form of media, like the Deku Tree from LoZ, or the Yggdrasil from Norse mythology.

Bushcats are a similar species to Barkdogs, mirroring an intelligent plant evolution. This species tends to keep to themselves, and pretends to be a normal bush when spotted by another creature. Some may produce fruit, which help them spawn more of their kind. The life cycle of Bushcats are nearly 1:1 with a Barkdog, however it is more common for Bushcats to sprout in a group, and spread quickly.

Bushcats typically have a minimum of two traits:
1. 3 leaves that surround their head for better camouflage when in defense mode.
2. a bush sprouting from the back.Other traits that have been documented are a stem-like tail, thorny limbs, a berry nose, and gel-like pawpads.

Bebe is the mascot for Bushcats, and is how they generally appear. Like Barkdogs, have as much fun as you'd like when designing!

Venturing into the urban world, Vendoos are a semi-organic species that thrive off coins, and exchange items typically contained in their chest cavity for them.Generally, they have no actual concept of value, and charge based on how hungry they are.Vendoos can have a preference for a specific coin (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half-dollars, yen, etc.). Even if a coin is made from the same material, Vendoos will insist every coin has a distinct flavor profile, and especially particular Vendoos may only prefer coins from a specific mint.Where Vendoos come from is a bit of a mystery, however the first stage of life is known to be particularly vulnerable. Vendoo kits must find a coin-operated machine to fuse with quickly, because they are born without the ability to consume coins. As soon as they are fused, the skin in their mouths begins to toughen and they form especially strong teeth to crush coins into fuel.A Vendoo could potentially live indefinitely as long as it has food available.

Tin is the mascot of Vendoos, and is a good representation of what the average Vendoo looks like.
Vendoos have a minimum of five traits:
1. a short, box-like snout, with two slits for nostrils2. a torso based on the machine they fused with3. long, bendy metal limbs with "boots" for feet and cylinder-shaped hands. Currently known to either have claws or paw-like fingers.4. A visor that displays their eyes.5. Steel ears that have glowing LED stripes.

DISCLAIMER: I am not claiming to own or have created the idea of anthro fishlures. I've seen a few with no correlation to Planet Evovaire, even predating the idea of the world. Me and my friend Coyote have simply created the lore for this open species/concept, you aren't required to adhere to the trait rules if you just want to make a fishlure outside of Planet Evovaire.

Anthro Fishlures are a semi-organic species that feed on a primarily pescatarian diet. They have an exoskeleton that can be comprised of metal, cork, rubber, wood, or plastic. Some may even have fur on top of their exoskeleton.
Anthro Fishlures live in floating villages, forming close-knit communities and providing food for one another. There are hunting groups that are designated for each phase of the day: Morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
Anthro Fishlures can hunt in two different ways; Fishlures with fur may prefer to fish while sitting in a boat, others may prefer to dive underwater and pursue their prey in a more aggressive manner.
Fishlures can hold their breath for ten minutes underwater on average, but can train to hold it for longer.

Fly is the mascot of the species, but I've included Benjamin here as well as an example of a fishlure without fur.
Anthro fishlure traits are as follows:
-The body is almost serpentine, resembling a hook shape
- Parts of the body are segmented (namely joints)
- Sclera is colored, no irises, only pupils
- Nose has a thin "T" shape
That's all! Everything else is up to you, whether you would like your fishlure to have paws or claws, or a differently structured face or nose, go wild!

Unlike the other species in Evovaire, Chompers are a fully synthetic species. They run on solar energy, and have an excellent and efficient way of using and storing said energy. Chompers excel in a variety of different fields, but a majority of them work in mining for raw metals or electrical work. Their bodies have a built-in surge protector, which makes them immune to electric shocks. In the mining field, Chompers will crush raw metal in their jaws and "consume" the material. This is not eating however, as they do not eat for energy. While the metal is in their body, it is heated until it becomes a liquid. Chompers will then take this liquid metal to a client requesting the material and open the latch on their abdomen to pour the metal out.

Chomper specific traits are as follows (I'll make a visual infographic when I can):1. A head resembling any of the following:
Staple remover, pliers, basically anything that looks like the pictures here as this post is where the idea for the species originally spawned from
2. a hatch on the abdomen for heating metal3. raptor-like feet for climbing (whether in the mines or for climbing up a telephone pole)4. a tail that lights up in the darkgenerally chompers are brightly colored but it's not a hard rule i like to leave things flexible so people can have fun
